Tournament Rules
Port Perry Angels
Softball Organization is a PWSA sanctioned Association.
Each team must show
Proof of Insurance upon registering and must have it available at all times
through-out
the tournament if
requested.
If playing outside
of
PWSA “By-laws and
Regulation” and Softball
Teams may register
up to 17 players and all “pick up” players must submit a signed letter of
permission
from their Team
manager/Coach. The letter of permission must be attached to the team roster and
submitted to the
Tournament Headquarters 60 minutes prior to the first game. No players may be
added once
the Roster is
submitted.
Tournament Headquarters will be located at
Pitching mound will be 38’ for the Novice Division.
Teams must be ready
to play at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled game time. A team will be
allowed a 10 minute
grace prior and then will have to forfeit game if
9 players cannot be fielded. The 10 minute or portion there of will be
part of the game time. In the event of a forfeit
the score will be 7-0 and 0 points awarded to the forfeiting team.
Home team does not
bat in last inning if leading.
Two points will be
awarded for Win, 1 point for the Tie and 0 for the Loss.
No points are
awarded for crossover games.
7 run maximum per
game.
No infield practice
will be allowed on game diamond.
The home team will
be decided by a flip of a coin by the home plate Umpire and shall supply the
official
Scorekeeper. Home
team will also report the final score to the Tournament Headquarters located at
Park South after
each game.
Game Time limits
will be as follows. Each game will be 7 innings.
Round Robin: No new inning to start after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Elimination Games: No new inning to start after 1 hour and 30 minutes. If tied
international tie breaker at top of inning.
Medal Games: No time limit.
Mercy Rule: 10 runs after 3 innings or
Safe-base rules
will be in effect. Batting helmets are mandatory and will be checked by Umpires
prior to the
start of each
game. As per Softball
Protests will not be considered, UMPIRE DECISIONS ARE
FINAL.
In the event of
ties for playoff positions after round robin play they will be settled by team
with best plus/minus,
if still tied least amount of runs scored
against, and if still tied by a 3 inning game.
Rain Delay: If a game in progress is called due to rain it will
resume from the point of interruption. Should
the tournament be
completely rained out before it starts, $125.00 per team of the entry fee will
be retained
for administration
expenses. If 50% or more of round robin is played and tournament is cancelled
due to rain
there will be no
refunds.
